UPDATE! The response to this poll has been amazing. While a many individual episodes with clear leads, there have been some interesting, even surprising, trends in voting.
For example, clusters of episodes from the same weeks have received lots of support from readers, but none of them enough to give any one episode a shot at the Top 10. What this means is that there are a few weeks of the show that fans dearly love, but none of the episodes from those weeks are getting much individual support. There's going to be a LOT to discuss once the votes are counted, in terms of popular story lines, characters, etc. ... which is why I've decided to push back the deadline until July 11. I want more data, and I think many of you are going to be surprised at the final results. As of today, ballots have been cast for more than 130 individual episodes.
The details below have been revised.
DARK SHADOWS is an unwieldy beast. With more than 1,200 episodes of the original series, a dozen more from the 1991 “revival,” three feature films, novels, comics and audio dramas there’s a LOT to digest.
Here’s how it works: Vote for your TEN favorite DARK SHADOWS television episodes. Just to see what happens, I’m going to allow folks to include episodes from the 1991 “revival” series, as well.
Unlike programs like STAR TREK and THE TWILIGHT ZONE, DARK SHADOWS episodes don't have proper titles. That means we’re going to have to rely on airdates or episode numbers, instead. This is easier that it sounds, thanks to the Dark Shadows Wikia. Visit the site, find the airdates of your favorite episodes and e-mail them to me. (NOTE: The DVDs should also include episode airdates.)
Rank your episodes from #1 (your first favorite episodes) to #10 (what you think is the tenth greatest). Here’s a handy dandy template for you to copy and paste into your e-mail:

Please send your ballots to firstname.lastname@example.org. The polls will remain open until 11:59 Eastern time, Friday, July 11. I’ll share the results as soon as they’re tallied.
And remember: If you don't vote, the Leviathans win.
